A man Nadia met for the first and last time in the year 2030, just weeks before her fourteenth birthday, when he broke into their home, seeking vengeance for two separate stints of incarceration he believed were her mother’s fault. Nadia had been forced to make a decision that would affect her for the rest of her long 120-year life, to oddly enough, end somewhat peacefully in bed in the year 2136.

In such a scenario as Nadia being the peacefully-raised daughter of a mother whose apparent mental illnesses – and especially their side effects – traumatized her, however indirectly, it's not implausible to suggest that Nadia may feel a deep-seated sense of empathy and identification with the victims of childhood abuse, including her own mother. This indirect connection to the trauma of child abuse could serve as a powerful motivator, driving Nadia to seek justice and retribution on behalf of survivors like her mom.

One could also argue that Nadia may experience a profound sense of helplessness and frustration in the face of systemic failures and injustices within the legal system. Obviously Nadia correctly has no aversion to concepts such as a person accused of or rumored to have committed a crime being presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, especially since she often benefits from the presumption of innocence herself, despite technically being a violent criminal who is just smart and cunning enough never to get caught. Or as she puts it in one video, “Let’s just say I’m really good at playing hide and seek with forensic scientists, and leave it at that.”

Child abuse is one of the most leniently-enforced crimes in many U.S. states, where many cases may go unreported, unresolved or result in far more lenient sentences than a person might get for a nonviolent drug offense, often in the same state. This lack of regard for tougher crackdowns on child abuse crimes often leaves survivors of such crimes without proper or at least adequate closure. This perceived failure of the justice system can fuel feelings of anger and disillusionment, prompting the rise of vigilantes like Nadia Willis to take matters into her own hands in pursuit of what she perceives as true justice.
